THE SCHOOL BENCHES REPAIR PROJECT

Several thousands of less fortunate children don't have a birth certificate. They are therefore legally inexistent. They can't easily register at school and at exams. They can't apply for an ID, apply for jobs, etc. Some become security threat to others. We are partnering with local organizations to help  poorest parents, orphans and vulnerable children (internal refugees) to register and get their birth certificates.

Like other Sub-Saharan African countries, Ghana is exposed to the difficult consequences of Climate Change. By helping the schools to plant local trees, we participate to the education of young people. We develop and build their awareness on climate-change and its consequences. We help them to start taking action at a young age to protect their environment.

In Niger, many schools don't have enough benches. As a consequence, children attend classes sitting on the floor in crowded classrooms.  When the few available ones are broken, they don't always get repaired.  We are helping to repair the broken ones so that the the children can work in adequate conditions. We work at the grassroot level with the carpenters, the teachers, the children and their parents to put in place a system that ensures the sustainability of the school table benches.
